The Royal Mint has created a commemorative coin in her honor. The coin features a portrait of Seacole and illustrations of her herbal remedies.

- Gold Proof Coin: This coin is made of 22 carat gold and costs £2,995.00. There are 125 of these coins available.
All of the coins feature a portrait of Mary Seacole on the reverse side, based on a photograph recommended by The Mary Seacole Trust and held at Winchester College. The packaging for the coins includes exclusive botanical illustrations of Seacole’s herbal remedies by Welsh fine artist Lucy Meriel Davies.

Continuing the Royal Mint growing collection of coins celebrating iconic women of British history, we are proud to honour a woman considered by many to be one of the greatest humanitarians of the last 200 years.
The first UK coin dedicated to this iconic female figure in Black history, the Mary Seacole UK £5 Coin features a design by Sandra Deiana based on a photograph of Mary Seacole, accompanied by an edge inscription that reads ‘THE ONE WHO NURSED HER SICK’.
