New Prince William coins are due to be issued in 2022.
The 40th Birthday of HRH The Duke of Cambridge Coins
A number of coins have been approved by the Queen’s Privy Council to celebrate Prince William’s 40th birthday on the 21st of June 2022, he was born in 1982.
His Royal Highness Prince William will be turning 40 in 2022, and to commemorate the event, The Royal Mint will issue a new commemorative £5 coin.
What will be the £5 coin design?
A new coin of cupro-nickel of the denomination of five pounds shall be made, being a coin of a standard weight of 28.28 grams, a standard diameter of 38.61 millimeters, a standard composition of seventy-five per centum copper, and twenty-five per centum nickel, and being circular in shape.

Reverse
The Royal Mint will reveal this design at the time of issue, but we can get some clues from the wording of the Royal Proclamation.

The coin shall have a grained edge.

This Proclamation shall come into force on the sixteenth day of December Two thousand and twenty-one. Given at Our Court at Windsor Castle, this fifteenth day of December in the year of Our Lord Two thousand and twenty-one and in the seventieth year of Our Reign.
