Coin Description

Coin Information: 2024 Millennium Falcon 50p

Following the massive success of the Star Wars "Character Duos" series, The Royal Mint launched a second collection in 2024 titled "Iconic Vehicles." This coin marks the very first release in that four-coin series, featuring the most famous "hunk of junk" in the galaxy—the Millennium Falcon.

The Design

The reverse of the coin features a film-accurate depiction of the Millennium Falcon in flight, as seen in the original trilogy. One of the standout features of this release is the lenticular security feature. When you tilt the coin, the image shifts between two distinct icons:

  • The Rebel Alliance "Starbird" logo.
  • A silhouette of the Millennium Falcon itself.

The obverse features the first definitive coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Martin Jennings, marking this as a modern era of Star Wars numismatics.

Is this coin rare?

About This Coin

Millennium Falcon – Star Wars Universe

The Millennium Falcon is one of the most iconic ships in the Star Wars saga. Known for its distinctive saucer shape, offset cockpit, and forward-facing mandibles, it was famously piloted by Han Solo and Chewbacca. Despite its humble origins as a Corellian YT-1300 light freighter, the Falcon has become legendary across the galaxy.

  • Sensor Suite: Advanced sensors allow for superior tracking, targeting, and evasion maneuvers.
  • Hidden Compartments: Built for smuggling, with shielded cargo bays invisible to most standard scans.
